This movie is a love story of characters Sophie and Howl, based on a 1989 British fantasy novel by DIana Wynn Jones. Howl is a vain wizard who lives in a moving shape-shifting castle. Sophie is a girl who is cursed to look old, the only thing that can bring out her true youth is through love. This romantic dilemma plus the portrayal of the cruelty of war makes this a truly fantastic movie that makes your imagination run free.
Grace of the Fireflies(1988)
Considered one of the greatest war movies of all time, this darker film shows the struggle of a brother and sister as they try to survive the final months of world war II. Based on a true story, this movie shows viewers the devastating cost of war on the innocent just trying to stay alive.
Spirited Away (2001)
Spirited Away is the story of a young girl who enters a world full of Japanese Shinto folklore (Kami). Through the triumphs and trials of magic, we see the character Chihiro grow into herself as she struggles to free herself and her parents from the spirit world. Spirited Away is one of the most popular Japanese films ever, and is highly received around the world.
